My jet plane boards in 40 minutes from PDX – LAX. I am carrying only a backpack and a box of freshly baked cookies for my host mother in Mexico. I am traveling relatively light with my checked baggage weighing in at 53lbs. No skis or boards this time. I am taking a break right now from The Brother’s Karamosov to read some shorter more relevant texts; Into The Wild by Jon Krakauer and Hope, Human, & Wild by Bill McKibben. On this first flight, my iPod will be spining Neil Young, Chicago, and Stevie Wonder on this first flight. Yesterday I had the song “My Cherie Amor” stuck in my head. We went to one of the best taquerias (Ole Ole) last night in Portland.
