Ski School

C CLARK SKI SCHOOL 2008
Competitive Waterskier and Collegiate Coach, Chris Clark will be offering private and group waterski lessons from June through August. Whether you need some training sets for a big competition or you are learning how to get up on a ski for the first time, you have come to the right place.

MY COACHING PHILOSOPHY
Many competitive skiers worry that they will receive coaching that is counter-productive to their skiing style and contradictory to previous coaching. I do not teach style but instead stick to teaching fundamentals. I customize my coaching techniques to meet the needs of each individual student.

THE LESSON
1. Communication
All lessons begin with getting to know each other. Your hobbies, your interests, your goals, and your expectations, all factor into the success of your lesson. The better we understand each other the easier it is to communicate.

2. Observation
Ideally, I like to start the ski lesson by watching you do your thing. From the way you handle your equipment to the way you move on the water. It usually takes a skier one full set to get warmed up, so I find it is best if your first set goes uninhibited.

3. Dry Land
After observing you on the water, we will get off the boat and analyze technique on dry land. This helps to slow things down and give us time to walk through mechanics. We will be able to adjust your body position and discuss the proper approach for your natural skiing style.

4. Boat Coaching
The remainder of your sets, I will be coaching you from the boat.

FOR EVERYONE
I offer instruction for male and female, toddlers through seniors, able body and disabled skiers. You are never too old to go to back to school and you can never stop learning. I, myself, attend ski schools and receive private coaching throughout the year so that I may also stay engaged in the learning process.

This website is way cool. Good job. I had no idea you were so into the ski scene. I’m trying to find a ski club somewhere close to where I’m living now (Orange County), but it seems like a lost cause. Canyon lake is probably the closest and that’s still 1.5 hours away. Where are you living/skiing right now?
